Staycation!

our intrepid leader, Linda

Once a year the Twisted Stitchers holds a Staycation, like a mini local retreat, organized by our past president, Linda K. Staycation is held over a 3 day period at a local hall where we are able to sew from 9 in the morning to around 8 in the evening. Then, at the end of the day, we can head home, retire to our own beds, and come back the next morning refreshed for another day of sewing and fellowship. Not only did Linda organize the hall and time frame, but she went above and beyond by even making many of the meals herself. On top of that, her hubby, Dave, helped us haul all our gear into the building so we could get right to the important job of sewing.

At the last retreat I went to I made up all the components of Gail’s Becky Bag and was able to complete her bag at Staycation. As you know from past posts, Gail is obsessed with Tula Pink fabrics so her bag is made up of all Tula Pink fabrics…so bright and colourful and full of personality. Check out the awesome printed floral vinyl on the interior below.

Also, I was able to take some photos of the work that the other ladies did so get ready for some eye candy.

Thanks again, Linda, for all your hard work organizing our Staycation and treating us to great food and prizes. And thanks to all the other ladies for a wonderful time together…can’t wait for next year!
