More Cherish Blocks
More cottage time means more English Paper Piecing (EPP). Along with the Cherish blocks you see below, I’ve also been working on my in-guild challenge piece for the upcoming Twisted Stitchers Quilt Guild quilt show at the end of October…also done with EPP. I’ll share the results of that with you after the show.
Considering that I really don’t enjoy hand appliqué, I’m very surprised at how much I am enjoying EPP…both are done by hand and both require precision stitching, but I get so much satisfaction from EPP that I never did get from hand appliqué. Not sure why.
I really love the fussy cutting aspect of EPP and the resulting designs and movement…I just don’t like trying to put my fabrics away. Do you know how hard it is to neatly refold fabric that looks like Swiss cheese?!
My sewing room time lately has been spent prepping more blocks for our next trip to the cottage and working on finishing projects for the quilt show, but in the meantime please enjoy the latest Cherish block additions and if you missed the first batch check them out here. I hope you all are enjoying your summer…even though its been so stinkin’ hot!
